This guide covers how to upload an existing tModLoader world save file to your Terraria server.

This will delete or overwrite any progress you have made on the server.
Before uploading your modded world, make sure to install all required mods on your server.
Finding Your Local tModLoader World Save File
- Press
Windows Key + Rand enter this:%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Terraria\tModLoader\Worlds - Find both the
.wldand.twldfiles for the world you want to upload.
The .twld file contains your modded world data and is required.
Your world save file location should look like this:
Documents/ └── My_Games/ └── Terraria/ └── tModLoader/ └── Worlds/ ├── YourWorld.wld └── YourWorld.twld
Steam Cloud Saves
If your world is stored on the Steam cloud, you need to temporarily move it off the cloud first:
- Launch Terraria (tModLoader).
- Go to the world selection menu.
- Click the cloud icon next to your world to move it off the cloud. This will download a local copy of your save.
- Re-enable Steam cloud after copying the files if desired.
Uploading Your tModLoader World To Your Server
- Access the GhostCap Panel and
Stopyour Terraria server. - In the sidebar, navigate to
File Manager. - Navigate to the
Worldsfolder. - Upload both your
.wldand.twldfiles. - In the sidebar, navigate to
Startup Parameters. - Set the
World Namefield to match your uploaded world file name. Startyour server.
The World Name in Startup Parameters must match the name of your uploaded world files.
For example, if your files are MyWorld.wld and MyWorld.twld, set World Name to MyWorld.
